Five things that changed my life this week

  1. switching to emacs and getting my configuration issues worked out
  2. discovering screen
  3. subscribing to the mudos mailing list where the folks are really awesome
  4. building the new pyblosxom web-site (not open yet)
  5. the amazing amount of activity on the pyblosxom mailing list which has given me a lot of confidence that there are other people who want to help out so I can go work on the things I'm interested in

Welcome to the cult of emacs.  At the alter of Stallman we pray.  This thing will change your life for better or worse, you'll never look at text editor the same again.

BTW, once 1.1 hits, I'll try to move my subversion hacks to the plugin architecture, and add my other flavs to the registery...  Its the least I can do for all the work you've done.

Using emacs to edit my blog entries, and subversion to version them, has changed my whole perspective on blogging.  I am a way more productive blogger than with Moveable Type.  Plus the "secret number" plugin is awesome.  It has fixed my spam problems.

Note 2: There is now a preview button for those of you who want to see a preview! However, it doesn't quite work the way you'd think it should work. I'll look into adjusting it some day.
