More comment spam

I think I've removed over 100 spam comments from my blog in the last 48 hours. I'm a little tired of it, so I added a few obvious words to my word blacklist and then I went and modified the comments plugin to allow for "draft" status.

Then I wrote a small script that goes through the directory, finds all the comments in draft status, prints each comment to the screen and asks me what I want to do with it. That'll prevent comments from getting published without my manual approval.

It's interesting to note that many/most of the comment spam are comments on my entries on comment spam. Amusing....

I feel with you, I just had another dozen or so non-blacklisted comment spams earlyer this week. Fortunately, my blacklist works again...

It's a pity those guys won't notice how stupid they act...


Please keep comments appropriate. I reserve the right to remove anonymous comments, flames, spammy, inappropriate, and other comments that I deem to be worth removing.

Note: New comments get placed in a "draft" status and will NOT show up on the site until I explicitly approve it. Usually that happens within 24 hours, but sometimes I go away and it takes a day or two.

Note 2: There is now a preview button for those of you who want to see a preview! However, it doesn't quite work the way you'd think it should work. I'll look into adjusting it some day.
